Late Winter, Spring Clean
January 13th, 2008 DougWhen working as an artist, one of the most important aspects of your work is motivation. Art can be a taxing and often frustrating occupation and the studio can be a lonely place. It has to work in terms of how comfortable you feel, both mentally in the development of your ideas and physically in terms of ease of use.
Every now and again the studio needs an over-haul, removing old pieces of work, unwanted ideas and drawings, and setting everything up to work well and allow for the production of new and interesting ideas. That’s the order of the day at the moment, getting the studio working again. It may just be a psychological thing, but it seems to work. I need to re-motivate myself and the cathartic effect of cleaning is the start of the process.
So, let’s get to work!
